Our marketing services team creates award-winning creative, digital campaigns across its B2B and B2C client base. We have grown our digital offering in recent years and particularly in 2020.  Digital growth is a core pillar of our global and UK three-year strategy and client engagement model.  We currently specialise in social media strategy and campaign execution (paid and organic) but will be expanding our capabilities over the next three years to include digital marketing from lead nurturing and sequential targeting programmes through to leveraging adtech & marketing platforms,  and new channels such as email marketing and PPC.

We would love you to join our UK team as a Digital Director

We are looking for an experienced Digital Director to join our growing team!  Working with the existing Strategy Marketing Services team, you will support the team across a range of client accounts to deliver effective campaigns, with great attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will have experience of creating and managing social media campaigns, from strategy through execution, to results and analysis. The candidate will also have experience in a broader range of digital marketing offerings to build new client solutions.  Experience in building a team by teaching skills internally, external partnerships (as needed) and adding talent to the team as we grow, is key to this role.  You will work with our global digital experts to build a network of skills and expertise to share across markets.


Key accountabilities

Deliver the end goal (Influence and implement the Hotwire Vision and Strategy)

  • Working closely with the UK MD and the Marketing Services Team to shape the digital offering in the UK to achieve overall UK growth objectives
  • Be an advocate for Hotwire in the industry, building not only Hotwire’s but also your own brand and reputation externally


Grow the Hotwire Business (Business Leadership)

  • Be the first point of contact for all digital pitches – ensure smooth processes for pitching and draw in the right resources from across the agency network to win
  • With the Head of Client Service and UK MD, contribute to the UK business plan for digital projects
  • Set clear performance standards and KPIs across account leads to ensure they are working towards the same goals, objectives and growth aspirations


Use our client engagement model to deliver the best experiences (Client Leadership)

  • Conduct situational analysis, and use this to identify the key client challenge
  • Collate and distil trends and issues to articulate the important context for client strategy recommendations
  • Use existing and new research to create rich, distinctive and new ways to define the target audiences for digital communications
  • Use data to pinpoint, communicate and convince clients of the communications audiences
  • Find, distil and articulate the audience ‘hidden truth’ or insight that will form the backbone of the proposed digital solution
  • Evaluate audience insights against client capabilities and competitor strengths, to evaluate which has most potential for the client
  • Design and direct digital solutions for clients
  • Work with client teams to ensure integrated/digital campaigns and activities are delivered to the plan
  • Act as strategic counsel to clients and internal team as and when needed
  • Teach others and build digital ambassadors in the UK to support you and the agency’s goals
  • Work with client teams to develop and agree key measurement KPIs
  • Work with client teams to help crystallise new, important challenges for clients (to restart the process or drive organic growth opportunities)
  • Work at key moments to review, refine and recreate campaign strategy and plans, when required


Lead for high performance (People Leadership)

  • Recruit and build digital capabilities across the UK client teams
  • Coach direct reports and digital team, driving a culture that enables current, direct and “actionable” feedback to others
  • Leverage digital talent and skills across the network to enhance and complement the UK team
  • Drive behavioural changes across client teams to promote a high performance culture
  • Manage resource requirements and team utilisation. Work with People & Culture Business Partner on strategic hiring where needed
  • Proactively manage client service levels


You’ll Bring:

  • Agency experience of working with tech clients, both B2B and B2C
  • A proven track record of leading, training and growing a digital team
  • A broad range of experience across multiple digital platforms and tools (i.e. paid and organic social media, SEO, PPC, adtech and CRMM platforms such as Hubspot and Pardot plus analytics tools such as Netbase, TrendKite, SEMRush, etc.)
  • Experience building a partner ecosystem and bringing in specialist agencies to offer more depth and breadth to complement our capabilities
  • Past success in implementing new processes, systems and methodologies within in agency setting
  • Knowledge gained working across different geographies. Ability to build relationships across geographies to leverage digital skills and talent.
  • A deep understanding of digital and social strategy leadership to the clients and team confidence in handling different client situations
  • A willingness to roll up your sleeves, write thoughtful and compelling proposals, plans and presentations, teach the team how to up-level our work, and drive results
  • Data-driven digital and social strategy and planning expertise that will enable us to craft strategies rooted in real insights.
  • Experience in customer journey mapping and integrated channel planning.
  • Ability to execute digital plans through to activations and reporting for B2B and B2C clients
  • Skills to support the growth and evolution of our digital skills- recruiting the right people / skills in line with growing revenue and service priorities
  • Confidence to educate clients and the Hotwire team about the changing digital landscape including platforms, technology and innovation
  • Training to enable our wider team to better understand digital and social strategy and when to call upon this team
  • Project and people management experience with a concrete history of taking visible action to provide high-quality, strategic creative outcomes and consultation to clients
  • A proven track record in successfully launching products and programmes that grow, innovate and/or streamline agency capabilities
  • Ability to identify new product and services priorities
  • Strong presentation and PowerPoint skills – an ability to articulate digital and integrated work verbally and visually
