Working well into a great future at Hotwire

Hotwire Global

“Some are born great. Some achieve greatness. Some have a PR team.”

I had a chuckle upon hearing this irreverent interpretation of Shakespeare at an event last week. Rather than take a sceptical approach, to me it was insightful food for thought as we scurry towards the end of yet another calendar year—my fourth working in communications, and my third at Hotwire.

The quote prompted me to think that PR and communications is more than the sum of its parts—whether we mean digital, social, content, or media relations, PR is the vehicle through which brands can become truly great.

To me, PR has always been that Midas touch of thinking organisations. PR ensures that when we think of cheeseburgers, we think of McDonalds. Or when we think of workplace software, we think of Atlassian, or when we think of a search engine, we think of Google.

There’s two core things that make Hotwire more than the sum of its parts too: its dedication to making its people well-rounded communications gurus, and its motivating approach to wellness.

The future of talent in communications

Working at Hotwire gives communications professionals an outstanding opportunity to think of communications in a truly holistic way, paving the way to achieve greatness for the brands we represent. From our Digital Brand Lab to our global connections with other offices, affiliates and partners, to our own Sydney experience of sharing an amazing office space with parent company Enero—every day is a learning opportunity connected to seemingly endless resources.

Whether you’re looking to become a pitching guru or a content specialist, Hotwire has the tools and people that will develop your craft and set you up to provide exceptional communications campaigns for the world’s most exciting companies.

Upping the wellness factor at work

It’s never enough to talk about work/life balance. In fact, as an organisation, it’s probably more damaging for morale to speak about it and never act upon, than not to speak about it at all.

Luckily, Hotwire puts its money where its mouth is, and backs up its impressive focus on wellness with tangible, everyday practices that ensures the wellness of its people is at front and centre of the business. Just some of these include:

  • Thoughtful Working—the practice that espouses work as a thing you do, not a place you go. It’s all about working the best way for you, your team, and your clients. Need to go to a café for an afternoon of quiet content drafting? Need to come in a little later so you can fit in an exercise class? No problem. Just keep your team across it and be thoughtful in your approach.
  • Yoga, Pilates, and meditation offered each week from some of Australia’s best corporate wellness consultants.
  • Access to Lynda.com and world-class learning and development programs, many of which have core focuses on wellness, personal brand, time management, and resilience.
  • A dedicated, private Wellness room for down time, prayer, or breastfeeding.

Being great isn’t about having a PR team (though this helps!). Achieving greatness comes from the time you invest in yourself, and the team around you that equips and encourages you to shine.
