👀 Snap Begins Testing Sponsored Links in ‘My AI’ Chatbot Responses (SocialMediaToday, 9/25/23): In line with Snapchat’s new partnership with Microsoft, sponsored links are now being tested with the ‘My AI’ chatbot feature within the social app, triggered pending on the users keyword searches.

Why it matters: From an advertising perspective, this gives brands an opportunity to stay relevant across conversations, and in turn, directly target audiences searching for their products.

🎨 Facebook changes its logo – see if you can tell the difference (The Verge, 9/20/23): If you had a feeling the Facebook logo looked different, you’re right. Facebook released a refreshed design, credited as “bolder, electric and everlasting.” With its expanded color palette also comes new iconography in reactions.

Why it matters: Digital marketers need to keep a tight pulse on the evolving changes within social platforms, especially when core platform features like reactions receive an upgrade, which then impacts the type of iconography that can be used to engage with content.
